🍟National French Fry Day

Title: Celebrating National French Fry Day the Library Way! 🍟📚

Did you know July 12 is National French Fry Day? That’s right — a whole day dedicated to one of the world’s most beloved snacks! Whether you like them shoestring, crinkle-cut, curly, waffle-style, or smothered in toppings, there’s no wrong way to enjoy a fry.

While we’re not serving up hot fries at the library (we’d get ketchup on the books!), we are serving up something delicious for your brain: fry-themed fun for all ages!

Here’s how you can celebrate French Fry Day — library-style:

🥔 Read a Tasty Tale
Check out one of these fry-and-food-themed books:

  • Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser (for curious teens and adults)

  • Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story by Kevin Noble Maillard

  • The Great French Fry Taste Test by Nora Raleigh Baskin (for middle grade readers)

🎨 Create Your Own Fry Guy
Pick up a coloring sheet or drawing prompt at your local library to create your own fry-themed mascot!

🧠 Fry-Day Trivia
Stop by and try your hand at a quick “Fry Facts” trivia sheet. Can you name which country consumes the most fries per capita? (Spoiler: It’s not France!)

📸 Show Us Your Fries!
Tag us on Facebook or Instagram with your favorite order of fries or a homemade creation using #NERLFryDay!

No matter how you slice it, National French Fry Day is a fun excuse to indulge in something crispy and golden — and pair it with something thoughtful and bookish. 🍟📖
